MATCH IT!

Did you know that in 2009 almost £700,000 was given to good causes by the Foundation and employees of DHL through the Match It! scheme alone? And a further 30,000 hours of time was volunteered. Follow the link above to see a list of which causes benefited.

The programme has been a huge success, with an increase of 33% in the number of successful applicants compared with last year (and 35% the year before). The matched funds provided by the Foundation through Match It! have increased by more than 80% between 2006-07 and 2008-09.

This huge success leaves the Foundation with a dilemma - how can we make sure that more charities have access to matched funding, when the budget isn't bottomless? So, from 1 October 2009 the amounts you can apply for will change.

The new levels still reflect our priority to support children and young people, but will allow greater numbers of employees to support their favourite causes.

We have also responded to the request that grant making charities should be eligible for funds. Having looked at the matter carefully, we are delighted to lift this exclusion and extend the availability of matched funding to these organisations.
