As the DHL UK Foundation launches our strategy 2025-2030 and onboards new partners, we will be concluding our support for long-standing charity partners, City Year UK, The Outward Bound Trust and Teach First at the end of the current academic year. We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate each partnership and recognise their commitment to supporting underserved young people in the UK. With the support of DHL employees, they have delivered valuable initiatives as part of GoTeach, ensuring young people are given the opportunity to develop employability skills and raise their aspirations.

City Year UK

Since 2016, the DHL UK Foundation has supported City Year UK in their mission to tackle educational inequality. With our funding, they have grown their work and impact in London, Greater Manchester, and the West Midlands, boosting education, skill development and employment opportunities for young people who need it the most.

We are also proud that over 600 DHL employees (non-unique) have supported around 1,230 City Year mentors with their leadership development, whether through the Bridge Builder mentoring programme, skills workshops or Industry Exploration Days. These opportunities have helped their mentors successfully secure employment or progress to higher education after their year of service.

Our long-standing partnership with the DHL UK Foundation has demonstrated how strategic business-charity collaboration can achieve shared goals and significantly impact young people’s lives. Our alliance has focused on boosting education, skill development and employment opportunities for children and young people who need it the most.”

We remain forever grateful to the whole DHL UK Foundation team, their Trustees and the hundreds of amazing colleagues across the DHL business.” – Kevin Munday, CEO – City Year UK

The Outward Bound Trust

The DHL UK Foundation have been a significant partner of The Outward Bound Trust for the last 18 years. Our funding has delivered a bespoke programme, giving underserved young people the opportunity to develop essential skills, complete an outdoor residential, and learn about the world of work and DHL. With the support of DHL employees, we have increased the aspirations of young people beyond their local area.

“During our partnership, over 3,500 young people have been equipped with important life skills such as self-belief, resilience and determination.  DHL employees have worked with the young people before, during and after the courses, to help further engage them and support them with career choices.

We are honoured to have held such a critical and longstanding partnership – we are very grateful to The DHL UK Foundation.”  –  Martin Davidson, CEO – The Outward Bound Trust

Teach First

Our decade-long partnership with Teach First was rooted in a shared commitment to educational equity. Through our funding, we combined Teach First’s expertise in teacher and leadership development with the Go Teach programme, connecting passionate DHL employees with Teach First partner schools to enhance their careers education. Over 21,000 young people (non-unique) across 64 schools have benefited from a co-designed toolkit of employability activities, and over 150 Teach First trainees and ambassadors have received valuable coaching support from DHL coaches.

“We are incredibly grateful to the DHL UK Foundation for their outstanding support and partnership over the years. Together, we have made a real difference to the lives of young people across GoTeach schools, helping to open doors, build confidence, and create new opportunities for the future.

Thank you for being such an important part of our journey — your commitment will leave a lasting legacy.” – Russell Hobby, CEO – Teach First

We thank these charities and those DHL employees who have supported them, for the positive impact these partnerships have had on young people. We are proud of the legacy they will leave. Looking forward, we welcome a new generation of partners who will help us meet our vision to ensure underserved young people access decent employment and thrive in their careers. We will keep DHL employees updated on opportunities to volunteer with GoTeach.
