Understanding impact is key to our role as a funder. We use evidence, evaluation and insight to assess the effectiveness of our investments, identify opportunities for improvement and build a stronger understanding of what helps young people overcome barriers to employment.
Research, evaluation and learning help shape our strategy, inform funding decisions and ensure resources are directed towards approaches that create meaningful outcomes for young people.
By sharing evidence and insights through publications, research and sector collaboration, we contribute to broader understanding of the challenges facing underserved young people and support collective efforts to improve employment outcomes.
Our Theory of Change provides the framework for our work, setting out how our funding, programmes and partnerships contribute to positive outcomes for young people and the wider sector. It guides our strategy and helps us focus resources on activities most likely to achieve positive outcomes.

We commissioned an independent evaluation of our funding portfolio to assess the effectiveness of our strategy and understand how our programmes and charity partners collectively contribute to the outcomes set out in our Theory of Change.
We evaluate GoTeach to understand the outcomes created for young people and the contribution of DHL volunteering. This helps us move beyond activity measures and understand the outcomes achieved through the programme, ensuring we can adapt delivery content and approaches to meet evolving needs.
We bring together charities, employers, educators, decision makers and sector leaders to share learning, explore challenges and identify opportunities to improve outcomes for young people. Through roundtables and collaborative discussions we contribute to wider sector learning and understanding.
Our work aims to help young people develop the skills, confidence and experiences needed for successful careers.
