Meet our Trustees and Team who together help deliver the DHL UK Foundation’s ambitious strategy.
The DHL UK Foundation is an independent registered charity governed by a Board of Trustees who each volunteer their time to support the Foundation and help us deliver our vision. The Board includes representatives of the global and DHL UK businesses as well as independent expert Trustees who meet quarterly to lead the strategic direction of the Foundation.

Susie is currently CEO of Transform2Outperform Ltd, where she specialises in business consulting, coaching, and developing senior executives. Before forming her company in 2016 she spent 16 years with DHL Supply Chain, latterly in the role of Executive Vice President Human Resources, Europe, Middle East and Africa and Global Talent where she was responsible for the determination and delivery of HR Strategy, People Performance and Development. Susie’s business mission is transforming leaders to transform working lives, and she is delighted to be working with the trustees in pursuit of the complementary mission of the DHL UK Foundation, to end youth unemployment.
Kate Butchart, Director of Philanthropy, CVC, joined the DHL UK Foundation board in January 2020. Kate is responsible for CVC Foundation setting strategy and implementing delivery for the core portfolio of charity partners. In addition she supports CVC’s portfolio companies in developing their CSR strategies and programmes as well as other CVC CSR initiatives such as employee engagement programmes. Previously Kate was the Head of Corporate Citizenship, EMEA, Credit Suisse until 2021. While at the bank she was responsible for leading Credit Suisse’s regional EMEA Corporate Citizenship programme, including charitable grant making and employee engagement activities. She worked closely with senior management developing overall strategic priorities, managed the Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation and oversaw the Bank’s relationships with key charity partners. In addition to being a trustee of the DHL UK Foundation, Kate is a school governor and a volunteer netball coach.
Duncan is the Vice President for Commercial at DHL Supply Chain UKI and also serves as the Chief Financial Officer for DigiHaul, a global freight business owned by DHL. Since joining Ocean Group in 1997, Duncan has built extensive experience across a wide range of supply chain products and sectors.
A long-standing supporter of the Foundation, Duncan has been actively involved as special financial advisor since 2010 and was appointed as a trustee in 2025. He is also a trustee of a local almshouse charity.
Jennifer is CEO of Phoenix Dance Theatre in Leeds. She started her career as a graduate trainee at the NSPCC, spending nine years with the Society in fundraising focused roles. She then spent seven years helping to establish the Institute of Imagination, an innovative organisation focused on ensuring children and their families are supported to develop the skills they will need to thrive in an uncertain future.
Prior to joining Phoenix in 2021, Jennifer was Interim Chief Executive of the Voices Foundation, a national charity committed to transforming music education so every child can find their voice, where she helped them successfully navigate the impact of Covid-19. She is Trustee of Together Women, Trustee of the Friends Provident Foundation, and Governor of the Darley and Summerbridge Primary School Federation.
Jennifer joined the DHL UK Foundation as a Trustee in February 2026.
Helen Copinger-Symes joined the Board of Trustees in August 2022. She has been a member of the Investment Committee, managing the underlying assets of the Foundation, since August 2020. Helen has had a career of over 30 years in Asset Management and Investment Banking, working at global investment firms such as Deutsche Asset Management, Invesco Perpetual, Alliance Bernstein, State Street Global Advisors and latterly with a boutique equity hedge fund, Anavon Capital. Helen is also a Non-Executive Director at the Pension SuperFund and a Trustee of the Rifles Regimental Museum Trust.
Patrick joined the Board of Trustees in February 2026, he has had a 37 year career in investment banking, holding various management and
leadership roles across global markets at Credit Suisse and HSBC.
Since 2023 he has been an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Marshall Wace Asset
Management funds board.
Patrick was Chair of the board of trustees for the Credit Suisse, EMEA, Corporate Citizenship
Foundation from 2012 to 2019 and a trustee of City Year UK, an education and employability
charity from 2016 to 2025.
He was also a member of the Development Board for Teach First until 2018 and made a
Lifetime Honorary Ambassador in 2019.
Barry joined the Board of Trustees in February 2026.
Barry became CEO of Youth Futures Foundation, the What Works centre for youth employment, in January 2023.
Barry’s career has been dedicated to supporting people into work and helping young people fulfil their potential.
Prior to joining Youth Futures Foundation Barry spent 3 years as CEO at Career Connect a youth focused Charity based in the North West. He began his career at Ingeus, spending 15 years at this large, health, youth, employment and skills provider, with his final role leading the UK business as Managing Director.
Barry is passionate about increasing social mobility and supporting the most marginalised in society. This is reflected in the non-executive roles he has previously undertaken including serving on the Board of Youth Employment UK, ERSA, Careers England, and Chair of The Way Youth Zone, part of the Onside network.
Paul Lyon is Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding UK and brings over 32 years of experience with the company in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
He has held senior regional and national leadership roles, delivering growth through people focused development.
Paul is passionate about youth development and social mobility.
Christoph Selig joined the Board of Trustees in November 2020. Christoph is Vice President Sustainability Communications and Programs at Deutsche Post DHL Group. He has been responsible for the development and the implementation of the international Go Teach program on Employability for Deutsche Post DHL Group. In his current role he takes responsibility for Corporate Citizenship programs of Deutsche Post DHL Group in Germany and international (employability, refugee aid, disaster management, environmental protection and volunteering). Christoph has 13 years of experience in politics, working in the German Bundestag, the Federal Foreign Office, and for more than 8 years he represented Deutsche Post DHL in Berlin as Manager Government Relations and Public Affairs. He completed an MBA Entrepreneurship with a main focus on Social Entrepreneurship and Social Business.
The Foundation’s dedicated team are responsible for managing relationships with charity partners and engaging DHL volunteers in a wide range of Foundation programmes and activities.
