The University of Edinburgh
Talented scientists and engineers of the future are to benefit from a £750,000 scholarship fund set up by Deutsche Post DHL through the DHL UK Foundation.
The initiative will support aspiring young people of limited means to pursue a world-class education in science at the University of Edinburgh. Up to 70 undergraduates who qualify for the scholarships will receive £2,000 each year for up to five years of their course.
The scheme is scheduled to support 15 science and engineering students each year, and will operate for 10 years in total, beginning in autumn 2015.
Students selected to take part may also benefit from placement opportunities and exchange programmes at DHL’s UK business divisions.
The scholarships are competitive and awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.
They are awarded to students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for undergraduate study in one of the following eligible programmes within Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) at the University of Edinburgh.
In order to apply for the Scholarship,students should have applied through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) and been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh. Applications for the Scholarship open in April each year and close in June 2017.
