Whatever your favourite cause, fundraising and volunteering efforts may be matched by the DHL UK Foundation, via Match It!. Naturally, some restrictions apply as to the amount matched or which organisations can benefit from matching, but these are clearly set out.
Applications for the Community Heroes 2010 have now closed and the winners and runners annouced. Please see the Community Heroes page for more information. The 2011 awards applications will open in January 2011.
Future Generations is the umbrella name for an exciting series of partnerships with national charities – Outward Bound®, the Prince’s Trust, Career Academies UK, Groundwork UK, The Children's Society and Volunteer Reading Help. The charities receive financial support from the Foundation, and they also benefit from the time, enthusiasm and energy of you, DHL people. Pilot projects with Career Academies UK, Groundwork and The Children's Society are starting during 2010. If successful, we hope to expand these projects to become part of our core programme.
Trucks and Child Safety is an award winning, national safety training programme run by the DHL UK Foundation and employees of DHL. Demonstrators take a lorry into school and talk to the children about keeping safe around larger vehicles. Over 30,000 children (between the ages of 7 and 11) receive training each year free of charge.
The Foundation also offers help to employees and their dependents, past and present, who find themselves in financial difficulty through no fault of their own. An application to the Helping Hands fund may be made for assistance.
Though the Foundation concentrates its efforts in the UK, it continues to fund and support other projects overseas in Africa, Turkey and Asia.
Please note, participation in these programmes is only open to DHL UK employees.
